Each year The Living Well relies on community members to help share in the good deeds they are inspired to practice everyday at the Well. This year, they filled an Advent Calendar with items for their emergency food pantry. Every donation goes to someone in need. Since January 2024 The Well has given away over 14,000 food items. They appreciate your support this holiday season!
We are a gathering of churches and community partners in Penn Yan NY dedicated to building a thriving local community together. We serve in diffferent denominations, hold a variety of theologies, and offer unique worship styles - yet we are all deeply committed to staying in loving relationship across differences and serving God and our surrounding community. The Penn Yan Area Council of Churches, with generous support from our community partners, maintains two part-time community chaplain positions. Astuti Bijlefeld serves those living in The Homestead and The Manor. Rick Myers serves as chaplain for the Yates County Jail.
The Council plans and leads monthly Community Prayer Services on the first Tuesday of every month at 12:15pm at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Hamilton Street, as well as special seasonal services. This is a wonderful way to pause mid-week and connect with God in the midst of loving, welcoming environment. Community members are also welcome to help lead the service by reading scripture and prayers. If this interests you, be in touch with Pastor Lori at the Lutheran Church.
